On May 29th 2012, Zhang was named in a report linking her to Bo Xilai, a prominent Chinese politician and the former Chongqing party secretary of China, in which the two were involved in a prostitution ring where Zhang provided sexual services in exchange for money and claims of a secret relationship between Bo and herself.
