The Story of Karylle
Ana Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari is a multi-talented artist of the Philippine show industry. She is popularly known as ”Karylle" and garnered the title as ”The Enchanting Diva” of the Philippines. This singer, songwriter, television & film actress, columnist/writer, commercial/celebrity endorser, dancer and host is considered one of the most promising young talents today because of her wide appearances in television, radio, concerts and the big screen.

Karylle was born on March 22, 1891 in Manila, Philippines. Her parents were Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari and the singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla. She graduated her degree of Communication Technology Management in Ateneo de Manila University on 2002. She was also a recipient of the Dean’s Award for the Arts.

Karylle is a recording artist under the label of Universal Records Philippines. Her first album was released on 2001 entitled Time To Shine. Her second album showcased her songwriting skill which was released on 2005 entitled You Make Me Sing. She wrote the songs “Coz, I Love You” and “Hiling”.

Her concert dubbed as “Love Letters” was held on 2005 with Nyoy Volante. Several concerts has taken place together with different singers/artists: “From K to Z: Now and Then” with Zsa Zsa Padilla (2005), “Faces of Love 2” with Gary Valentiano Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Paolo Valenciano (2006), and “Voices” with Kyla, Jay-R, Jamie Rivera, and Ella May Siason (2006).

She wowed and won the hearts of the audience in her acting debut as Princess Sapphire in the Trumpet’s production of “The Little Mermaid”. She had her permanent stay in SOP since 2001 until this present. Karylle participated several TV series either as lead star or not: “Twin Hearts” (2003), “Love to Love” (2004), “Encatadia” (2005), “Etheria” (2005), “Encantadia: Pag-Ibig Hanggang Wakas” (2006), and “Kamandag” (2008). Her big break in acting started when she accepted the lead role as Sangre Alena, one of the main casts of TV series of “Encantadia” of GMA Network.

She appeared as guest in several programs of GMA such as SIS, Eat Bulaga, Art Angel, Master Showman Presents, Bubb;e Gang, All Star K, Mobile Kusina, Extra Challenge, Lagot Ka, Isusumbong Kita, Wag Kukurap, Nuts Entertainment, Popstar Kids etc.

Karylle also challenged herself in Movies and starred some like Mano Po II: My Home, Mano Po III: My Love, Bahay Ni Lola, Mulawin: The Movie, Moments of Love, and the recent one, Ligaw Liham (2007).
